The Canadian, sometimes referred to as “Super Yankee, ” is a combination of 26 bets: ten doubles, ten trebles, five four-folds and one five-fold.
Part | Selections | Number of bets |
---|---|---|
Doubles | 1+2, 1+3, 1+4, 1+5, 2+3, 2+4, 2+5, 3+4, 3+5, 4+5 | 10 |
Trebles | 1+2+3, 1+2+4, 1+2+5, 1+3+4, 1+3+5, 1+4+5, 2+3+4, 2+3+5, 2+4+5, 3+4+5 | 10 |
Four-fold | 1+2+3+4, 1+2+3+5, 1+2+4+5, 1+3+4+5, 2+3+4+5 | 5 |
Five-fold | 1+2+3+4+5 | 1 |
Total: | 26 |
Every selection must have the same stake, and at least two selections must be successful to guarantee a return.
When is the Canadian used?
As the name implies, the Canadian, or Super Yankee, is an extension of the Yankee. And as with the Yankee, the Canadian is an excellent way for backing several selections that may pay a shorter price individually, with a more handsome return when placed across this sort of bet.
With all five picks strongly expected to deliver, a Canadian ignores singles and focuses your staking power on more profitable multiple bets, with the potential for more significant returns.

How are the odds calculated?
Team | Philadelphia | Orlando | Miami | Detroit | Atlanta |
Number | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
Bet 1-10: Doubles – Each bet has individual odds calculated by multiplying the odds of the two teams for each bet. Example: Odds 1 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds. Odds 2 = Team 1 odds * Team 3 odds etc.
Bet 11-20: Trebles – Each bet has individual odds calculated by multiplying the odds of the three teams for each bet. Example: Odds 11 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds * Team 3 odds. Odds 12 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds * Team 4 odds etc.
Bet 21-25: Four-folds – Each bet has individual odds calculated by multiplying the odds of the four teams for each bet. Example: Odds 21 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds * Team 3 odds * Team 4 odds. Odds 22 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds * Team 3 odds * Team 5 odds.
Bet 26: Five-fold – This bet is calculated by multiplying the base odds of all teams. Example: Odds 26 = Team 1 odds * Team 2 odds * Team 3 odds * Team 4 odds * Team 5 odds = 11.7
If any of the bets 1-25 is successful, it will return stake * corresponding odds.
If bet 26 is successful, it will return the odds from all bets added together, which in this case amounts to a total odds of 118.89. Multiplying the final odds with the stake of $5 will give a return of $594.49
